Here’s some used EV intelligence to think on.

Manheim Australia BEV sold volume at auction is up 3x this year and our clearance rate is sitting at 97.3%. We’ve sold BEVs made by 17 different brands at our dealer and public auctions YTD.

But what we really want to home in on is the degree to which the market has heated up over the past month, versus the previous results for 2026. Not only are bids up 2x or 3x depending on event, but:

  • The average sold BEV price as a percentage of vendor reserve has jumped from 99.7% to 113.5%
  • The average sold BEV price as a percentage of our valuation has jumped from 107.2% to 124.5%
  • The percentage of BEVs sold under the hammer versus negotiation post-auction has climbed to 87% to 97%.
  • The overall increase in sold average BEV prices is about 20%.
  • The number of BEVs that sold for greater than 110% of seller reserve spiked from 13% (about 1-in-8) to 55% (better than 1-in-2).
  • The biggest challenge for us right now with BEVs is to consign as many as we can for our OEM, fleet-lease, government, SME and financier partners.
  • Using our highly competitive auction marketplace platform is an excellent way to maximise the value of your asset, to strike while the iron is hot.
