Cox Automotive is a family business that treats its team members and customers like they’re just that – family. Our sense of social responsibility is ingrained in our culture. We believe we should be ‘stewards of the world we live in’, so whether it’s volunteering, fundraising, focusing on health and wellbeing or improving our environmental footprint, we love doing things to support the causes we’re passionate about.

Preventing Human Labour Exploitation

Cox Automotive has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any part of our supply chains and operations.

This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity and covers recruitment, employment, human rights, principles of respect towards our employees, whistleblowing, training, reporting, due diligence processes and supply chains.

Ethical Purchasing Policy

Cox Automotive is committed to ensuring ethical, sustainable and socially responsible procurement across our business. Our Supplier Code of Conduct applies to all suppliers, employees, contractors, agents and related entities who supply products or services to the Cox Automotive Australia and New Zealand group and details the minimum standards which they are required to meet. It is the responsibility of all suppliers to ensure that their personnel and subcontractors adhere to this Code.

We’re passionate about working with suppliers who share our high ethical standards of business integrity, ethics and corporate governance, don’t share or improperly use confidential information, disclose any conflicts of interest, provide safe, fair and ethical workplaces to uphold high standards of human rights and maintain environmentally responsible practices and policies.

Kids Under Cover

Kids Under Cover is a not-for-profit organisation that prevents youth homelessness in Australia, by providing studio accommodation in family backyards as well as education scholarships.

As Kids Under Cover’s official auction partner, Manheim has been helping raise vital funds for the charity since 2006. Collecting and auctioning vehicles donated via their ‘Donate Your Car’ program, we have sold over 20,000 vehicles on their behalf.

Anyone can donate a vehicle to the KUC through the program which will see your unwanted vehicle collected for free. You can even claim a tax deduction on the sale price.

We are proud to be a supporter of KUC and donated vehicles sold by Manheim at all of our locations help raise funds for their much needed work.

Shitbox Rally

Manheim is proud to have been a major sponsor and auction partner of the Shitbox Rally in Australia since 2015.

The Shitbox Rally is a bi-annual event, where teams drive cars worth less than $1,000 across Australia via some of its most formidable roads, to raise much needed funds to support cancer research.

Landcare Australia

Manheim are proud partners of Landcare Australia.

Landcare Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation engaging communities in sustainable land management and conservation activities for over 30 years.

As part of the partnership, Manheim supports three major projects around Australia, including;

  • Revegetating former platypus habitat in Kororoit Creek (VIC)
  • Protecting the Franklin River Wilds National Park (TAS)
  • Planting 17,000 seedlings in Murray Malley Woodland (SA)

Cox Automotive team members support the cause volunteering their time to help with projects around Australia.

STEPtember

Cox Automotive Australia and New Zealand is proud to partner with Cerebral Palsy Australia (CPA) and participate in STEPtember each year to raise awareness and support those living with a disability.

During the annual STEPtember fundraising event team members challenge themselves to take 10,000 steps each day in September. It’s an opportunity to be active, connect with fellow team members, and to contribute to an important cause.

In recent years, over 120 CAA steppers have hit the pavement to raise significant sums of money. CAA has matched every dollar raised, leading to a strong, ongoing relationship with CPA and the team at STEPtember.

Cox Conserves - Protecting our environment

Driving positive environmental change is one of the most important things we do.

In 2007, Cox Automotive launched a global sustainability program, Cox Conserves, and since then, we’ve made meaningful progress in our journey to become a more sustainable company and have invested more than $100 million in sustainability and conservation projects.

Our Cox Conserves global goals are to send zero waste to landfill by 2024, and to be carbon and water neutral by 2034. In many regions we’ve already achieved this ambition.

We focus on alternative energy, community engagement, employee engagement, energy conservation, waste diversion and recycling, and water conservation.

We operate our businesses in ways that reduce our impact, and we encourage our employees, customers, suppliers and partners to do the same. We conserve natural resources by adopting renewable forms of energy. We’ve also enhanced the efficiency of our operations, improved facilities to save energy and reduce waste, and supported environmental not for profit organisations.
